My “Yoga” Experience So Far…

For a good couple of years I was  ‘thinking of’ starting yoga, but never took any action. Things changed this year rather unexpectedly!

Recently I joined a system to further my online marketing education and as a part of getting started assignment I had to write down “100 things that I want to do or have before I die.”

Well… I am still completing this list, anyway long story short one of the things I wanted to do was Learn Yoga.

I wrote it, but never thought about it until I came across an advert about a local yoga classes.

This may seem so insignificant, but again it showed me the power of writing your goals.

Enough about my story…

For those who don’t know what Yoga is according to Wikipedia it refers to traditional physical and mental disciplines originating in India.

So, the key words to me here are physical and mental disciplines. Just like any other discipline we need to practice this.

There is so much to this and I am no expert in educating you on this subject, but so far experience was amazing. I can feel the stress getting out of my body, my mind become so calm and feel relaxed. After that I can think clearly and I believe the mind is clear to get new ideas and solve problems. Many of the other students in the class mentioned that they can sleep better. (No, I didn’t have any sleeping problem, I hit the pillow & I am out)

One more thing, I am not as flexible as I imagined ;-)- My teacher assures me that this will come with practice, just like anything…

If you haven’t tried this practice I highly recommend you research it and if you have been ‘thinking’ about it like me just get started.

Here is a short video I did recently to share 3 simple Yoga poses I learned:

    So Happy YOU are taken Yoga. Such a phenomenal journey. I have been doing it for 10 years and it has MADE all the difference in my life. I will be practicing what you showed us here today. I guess after 10 years I still have a LOT to LEARN. This was the first time I've seen it done before so I honor & thank you very much.
    Let me know how it goes.
    I love doing Sun Salutation, mindful deep breathing and now I am looking forward to more techniques such as Pranayama which is conscious expansion of energy.
