FOCUS – Online Marketer’s Nightmare

The number 1 challenge I had when I just came online was FOCUS. I find many others have the same challenge.

In one of her blog posts, social media guru Mari Smith makes FOCUS into an acronym “Follow One Course Until Successful”.

It is very easy to get distracted when you are online. Brilliant online marketers try to get you into many things because they are really good marketers and they have proven products that will sure to help you. What you need to keep in mind is whether the particular training or marketing system or marketing method or business opportunity suit your requirement at the moment.

Before getting into any of them, no matter how great and wonderful they sound, take time to analyze where you are right now. Please remember not to take to much time doing this – I am sure you have heard “Paralysis by Analysis” … you don’t want to end up there!

So the best time to invest your time and money in a new training, marketing … etc. is when you are at a completion point.

If you start a new online marketing technique, make sure that you generate at least 10-15 leads per day from that particular method before you move on to something else.

Same with the training,

Have you completed what you have started? Did you put what you learned to practice? Do you want to enhance your learning in the same direction? How will the new training help you achieve your goals?

Once you have the answers to your questions it is a mater of decision. Now, if you decide to go ahead and get what ever on offer, do not procrastinate, just go get it! Have faith in your decision, get involved, take full responsibility and make it work.

    Hi Damayanthi,

I couldn't agree with you more about the absolute crucial importance of focus or “concentration power,” as I also like to call it, in ALL important endeavors. Several years ago, I attended a major online marketing mastermind event where Michael Clouse was one of the main presenters. Of all the important things I learned at that event, the one that has stuck with me most strongly was his emphasis on “keeping the main thing the main thing.” This is highly congruent also with everything I've learned through 35 years of practicing mindfulness meditation, of which concentration power is one key component.

Thanks much for sharing this important information.

    Hi Damayanthi!

So true, focus is THE biggest challenge in online marketing, especially if one loves to learn new techniques. They keep adding new ones and never get proficient in any!

If you can master focus it is a powerful ingredient to success!

    Wishing you Awesome Success!

    Hi Vicki,
Yes, sometime we are trying to learn everything as you say but do not take action to master what we learned because we have too much in our plate.
