How Fear Can Help You with Your Business?

Fear can Motivate You

Yesterday we went to see the movie “Life of Pi”

On my way home I was thinking that we do have so many fears in business that we can use to motivate us to move forward.

As a species we have evolved so much and we have survived because we have managed to use our fears to motivate us looking for ways to overcome the challenges.

Look at your goals…

Are you trying to avoid pain or seek pleasure?

For most people avoiding pain is important than seeking pleasure.

So, what are you fearful of?

What is more fearful? Making ends meet or picking up the phone and calling your clients?

Make your worst fear the motivation to overcome those little things you are worried about.

I was here yesterday and read, watched and commented. Not sure where it went, but I’ll take another shot.
I have a burning desire to succeed at Internet Marketing, so I’m sure that the corresponding fear is “fear of failure.” I REALLY don’t want to fail at this. I’ve sunk a lot of time, effort, cash and credibility here and so —No I really don’t want to fail.

    Thanks for the post,
    Dr. Hale

Thanks for stopping by Dr.Hale. Most of us have that burning desire to succeed, and fearful of failure. If that fear is greater than the other fears you have with regards to progressing in buisness, you will keep going.

This is excellent timing. Yesterday I put together 50 catalogs and bagged them up with my samples and my business card. I made the decision this week I was going to pass out every one of those catalogs. Today I took a deep breathe found a good street drop off 10 of my catalogs. I said I can do 10 for sure. I looked at this one house, the first house, and said “No to many cars, I’m not going to that door.” I passed out my 9 bags and I said “you’ve got to do this, do it afraid.” I managed to go to that very door and hang my catalog bag on the knob. Guess what, no one came out to scream at me, no one told me to get away from their door. I did it, afraid but I did it. Good job on this topic.

Good one Bridget. There is great book “Feel the Fear and Do It Anyway”. So proud that you did it.
