Blogging Obstacle #1

I don’t know what to say? And/or who would want to listen to me?

Ok, lets take the first one – “I don’t know what to say?”

This is due to lack of understanding of your target audience. The reason I say this is if you know whom you are talking to and you have some kind of knowledge about them you will have enough things to talk about in your blog.

If you have difficulty in identifying your target audience, read this post Before you start marketing

If you still have problems with content ideas, read this post 3 Ways to come up with new content ideas

Secondly, “Who would want to listen to me?”

This is purely a mindset issue. If you have this question in your mind, it means that you are focusing on YOU instead of your target audience who are waiting to learn from you. This is the question you need to ask yourself constantly.

“How can I HELP them?”

If you have some knowledge about some thing it is 100% guaranteed that there are people who are looking for that knowledge. So, it is very shellfish of you if you are not sharing that information.

If you are still unsure think about it this way. Have you ever searched online to learn something that you didn’t know or to get more information on something? I would say invariably you would have found something for free or even a paid service or product.

Imagine for a second that you could be that person solving the problems of your particular niche. I can go on here but, I guess you get the picture.

Blogging Obstacle #2

Desire to be perfect

I think most of have this obstacle in someway or the other. It is a good thing to be perfect, but unfortunately some people don’t even get started because they are waiting to get their blog perfect.

For anything GETTING STARTED is the first step.

So I urge you to let go of your “perfectionism” and take that first step.

Say to you “Good Enough is Good Enough”.

Here are some quotes about perfectionism:

A man would do nothing if he waited until he could do it so well that no one could find fault.  ~John Henry Newman

 This is the best:

Use what talents you possess; the woods would be very silent if no birds sang except those that sang best.  ~Henry van Dyke

If you are not convinced check out few blogs of the other peoples blogs and no doubt you will see some primitive ones. The thing is that they started and they will improve.

Blogging Obstacle #3

Technical issues

I certainly had this obstacle because I am not a techie person.

This is a very easy one to overcome with all the information you have on your fingertips.

  1. If you have time or budget and willing to learn, you can get most of the technical problems solved just by searching online. This can be some free articles and videos or paid course
  2. If you don’t have time or you want to use that time for income generating activities you can get help from outsourcing services. Place to outsource – Odesk, Elance, Fiverr . If you haven’t used these services this training on “Outsourcing Insider Info” is a must see training.
  3. You can get someone to setup your blog. This is how I got my blog up & running.

So, tell me did you have any of these obstacles and how did you overcome them? Please share in the comment section below.

Finally, don’t let these obstacles stop you. Go… get your blog started!

If you got some value out of this, please give share on Facebook and give it a Google + because more people need to hear this message.

Enjoyed reading your post today. For me the biggest challenge is #3, technical issues. I’m still at the point where I want to do everything myself and that’s hard to let go of sometimes.

Hi Stephen, Most of us are technically challenged, but the thing is nowadays technology is one of the cheapest commodities… so we have no excuses!
      Thanks for your input 🙂
